Daniel C. Wamsley

Daniel C. Wamsley, 84, of Holt, MO, passed away December 20, 2025 at Sabetha, KS. He was born July 4, 1941 at Barada, NE to Daniel and Eunice (Quigley) Wamsley

He married Geraldine Higby in January of 1961 at Whiting, KS. They later divorced in 1970.

Daniel was raised mainly in the Barada and Shubert, NE areas and graduating Whiting High School in 1960. He worked at the Topeka grain elevator and various other places until enrolling in diesel mechanics school in Kansas City. He worked for Midway Ford for many years and then became a self-employed dump truck operator and managed a fleet of dump trucks working for, among other, Fordyce. He retired in 2003 and enjoyed tinkering around the home on various projects. He was a member of the teamsters in Kansas City.

Daniel is survived by his sons, David and his wife Christina of White Cloud, KS, Daryl and his wife Ruth of Powhattan, KS, Daniel Thomas Hefty of Kansas City, MO, daughter-in-law, Tammy Wamsley of Wetmore, KS, brothers, Doug and his wife Carol of Gardner, KS, Dennis of Falls City, NE, Donnie and his wife Pat of Nemaha, NE, sister, Diann Stepongzi of Auburn, NE, sister-in-law Charlene Wamsley, eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Dearle and a son, Gary.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, December 23, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Harris Cemetery with Pastor Donald Wamsley officiating.

No viewing or visitation. Friends may sign the guest registry at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home during regular business hours.
