Deborah Lynne (Hexum) Hart was born January 28, 1953 in Marshall, Minnesota to Wanda J. (Hard) and Orville C. Hexum. She passed peacefully in her Falls City home surrounded by loved ones on June 1, 2025. She was the oldest, first to two sisters, Christine and Katherine (Kathy), who were later followed by two brothers, Ben and Robert and another sister Gwen.
Debbie graduated from Artesia high school in Artesia, California in 1971. In 1976 she met Loren “Danny” Hart at her sister Christine’s wedding. She had said he had a broken arm at the time and she felt sorry for him. They married six months later on June 19th in Kingman, Arizona and remained married for 36 years until his death in 2012. From that union came four daughters. Her greatest enjoyment in life came from her family, especially her children and “granny-babies”.
She lived in a lot of places, both with her mom and sisters when she was young and with her husband. Wherever she made her home, it was always filled with love and music. Singing and dancing were a common occurrence.
She was the family beautician, doing most of the haircuts and perms. She learned the trade in beauty school and during “hair shows”, often using her mom and aunts for practice. She took pride in her own appearance, often changing her hairstyles and colors to fit her fancy. She was an amazing cook and baker. She was known for pulling meals and sweet treats out of thin air, always made with love, taking what she had and turning it into a feast, a skill she successfully passed down to her children and grandchildren. She loved reading, camping, crocheting and doing yard work.
She had the ability to always look for the good in people and situations. If there was a glimmer of hope she was holding on to it. Her love for people led to work as a hairdresser and a nurse’s aide, even to running a daycare out of her home. She worked at Sac & Fox Casino, at various times working with her dad, mom and daughter.
She is survived by three daughters; Jennifer Grantham (Ken) of Rochester, Minnesota, Corrin Sudweeks (Warren) of Falls City and Amie Hart of Falls City. Granny-babies; Peyton Madere, Emily Barrand (Phoenix), Laurel Madere, Avery Grantham, Nyla Grantham and Eli Hart, and great granny-babies Cameron and Vivian Barrand. She’s also survived by her sisters, Kathy Russell of Falls City and Gwendolyn Jannigan of Weston Florida, and brothers, Ben Hexum (Jen) of Balaton, Minnesota and Robert Moyer of Falls City. Extended family includes Wendi Morrison (JB), Michael Lovejoy and one of her oldest dearest friends, Linda Ferris, along with several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, her father, dad, mother, sister, niece, husband and her dear friend Lenore Fultz.
