Fayrene L. Kuker

Fayrene L. Kuker, 83, of Verdon, NE, passed away March 23, 2025, in Falls City, NE, surrounded by her family.

She was born August 1, 1941, at the family farm near Kent, IA, to Howard and Bernice (Keefer) Kessler. Fayrene was raised on the family farm near Kent and graduated from Cromwell High School in 1959. After graduation, she moved to Omaha for work and actively bowled and played softball.

She married Larry K. Kuker on August 23, 1969, in Omaha, NE. Larry passed away December 4, 2020.

Following their marriage, the couple moved to the family farm near Verdon, NE, where she was a homemaker and farm wife.  When the kids were in school, she drove a school bus for Southeast Consolidated Schools and then Humboldt Public Schools, retiring after over 20 years. During sporting events she could often be found keeping score book or game clock.  She was an active member of Shubert Christian Church, holding various positions in church leadership through the years. She also served on the Regional Board of the Disciples Women of Nebraska, holding positions of President, Vice President, Secretary and Worship Director.

Fayrene is survived by her children, Kevin and his wife Lori A. of Auburn, NE, and their children: Elizabeth and Emma; Karen Schulte and her husband Brent of Berryton, KS, and their children: Abigayle, Audrey and Andrew; Kristen Lovell and her husband Rolland of Valparaiso, NE, and their daughter: Cortni; Kyle and his wife Lori M. of Shubert, NE, and their children; David and Danyelle; brother James Kessler of Lake Park, IA; sister Janice (Ross) Phillips of Tulsa, OK, many In-laws, Nieces and Nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Frederick, twin brothers Floyd and Lloyd, sister Phyllis Focht and sister-in-law Marilyn Kessler.

Her funeral will be held on Monday, March 31, 2025, at 10:30 AM at Shubert Christian Church with Pastor Jackie Gfeller officiating. Interment will be in Harris Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Sunday from 4-6:00 PM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.
