John Price, 85, of Rulo, NE, passed away January 15, 2025 at Rulo. He was born September 8, 1939 at Wrightsville, GA to Marcus David and Lillie Mae (Temple) Price.
John was drafted into the U. S. Army on August 9, 1957 at Atlanta, GA. He was honorably discharged on October 7, 1957 at Ft. Benning, GA.
He married Dorothy Goltz on October 27, 1963 at Falls City.
John was raised in Johson County Georgia and he worked for a propane company before being drafted. When he was discharged, he worked as a meat cutter for a grocery store before moving to Lincoln, NE in 1962 where he became employed at Capital Bridge. When married the couple lived various places due to his work. He eventually became employed at Judds Brothers and erected steel buildings and after that he worked for Karr Construction. Later he and his brother, Albert, started Price Enterprises and did general contracting in the construction business. In 1995 he built J. P.’s Butcher Block and retired in 2017.
John is survived by his wife Dorothy of Rulo, children, Jan Price of Falls City, John Wayne Price, Jr. and his wife Heidi of Pickrell, NE, brothers, James and his wife Linda of Irwinton, GA, Tillman and his wife Judy, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Albert, Marcus, Jr. and Kenyon, sisters, Mary Martin and Betty Sue Herrington.
John has chosen to donate his body to the Nebraska Anatomical Board. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
