Velvejane Sopoci, 90, of Falls City, NE, passed away January 5, 2025 at Falls City. She was born November 23, 1934 at Tripp, SD to William and Luella (Lippert) Weisz.
She married Robert Sopoci on November 25, 1952 at Tripp, SD. He passed away September 24, 2019.
Velvejane was raised at Tripp and worked as a housekeeper at Holiday Inn at Grand Island. She lived in many places due to her husband’s military service. The couple moved to Shubert in 1964 and into Falls City in 2012. She was a nanny, babysitter and foster parent to over 60 kids.
Velvajane is survived by her children, Kevin of Falls City, Vickie Oliver of Dawson, NE, seven grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Randy Lee, four siblings, two great-grandchildren, Haley and Andrew Sopoci and a son-in-law, David Oliver.
Her memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at 11:30 AM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home. Inurnment will be in Prairie Union Cemetery.
