Mary A. Woltemath, age 50 of rural Sidney, IA passed away on Friday; June 28, 2024 surrounded by her family.
Mary Ann (Sheppard) Woltemath was born on January 16, 1974 in Falls City, NE; the daughter of Robert Sheppard and Elizabeth (Blevins) Wilson. She attended Winston High School and later graduated from the Cameron High School with the Class of 1992. Following her graduation, she served her country and attended Basic Training for a short time.
In 2008, she began nursing school at North Central Missouri College. She later graduated in 2011 as a Registered Nurse (RN). During her career in nursing, she worked at the Veterans Home in Cameron, MO, as a Hospice Nurse in both Nebraska and Kansas, and as the Director of Nursing at Pleasant View Care Center in Rock Port, MO among various other nursing positions. She also served as the school nurse at Sidney High School. Mary enjoyed working in her flower garden and tending to the yard.
She was united in marriage to Michael Woltemath on August 23, 2015 at Excelsior Springs, MO.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband Mike of rural Sidney, IA; children: Derrick Stith (Breah) and Dalton Stith (Ashley) all of Hamilton, MO; Abigail Woltemath of the home, one grandchild Elaina Stith; her mother Elizabeth Wilson of White Cloud, KS, her father Robert Sheppard of Hamilton, MO, siblings: Tami DiGiacomo (Chuck) of Falls City, NE, Paul Schawang III of White Cloud, KS, Julie Kurenda-Sheppard of Anaconda, MT, Rebecca Schawang of Mound City, MO; father and mother in law: Ivan and Sharan Woltemath of Hamburg, IA; sister in law Chris Philpot of Burke, VA; other family and many, many friends.
The family will greet friends on Monday, July 1, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Rash-Gude Funeral Home in Hamburg, IA.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at the United Faith Church in Sidney, IA; burial will follow in the Mt. Olive Cemetery southeast of Hamburg, IA.
Memorials may be given to the United Faith Church of Sidney, IA or the Brooke Michel Scholarship Fund.
