Marilyn Coulter, 83, of Falls City, NE, passed away June 10, 2024 at Lincoln, NE. She was born December 27, 1940 at Rulo, NE to Mannie and Grace (Hunker) Schulenberg.
She married Gary Coulter on October 17, 1959 at Hiawatha, KS.
Marilyn was raised at Falls City and had attended school in Rulo, Salem and Falls City. When married the couple established their home in Falls City where she and her husband operated the Derby Station which became Coastal Mart until 1996 when she took employment with Falls City Public Schools as a custodian at South School, she retired in 2005. She enjoyed reading romance novels, doing crosswords and gardening. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church at 20th and Towle St.
Marilyn is survived by her husband, Gary of Falls City, children, Randy and his wife Laura of Crete, NE, Sherri Hunzeker and her husband Mike of Rulo, Kristi Mullins and her husband Jim of Falls City, brothers, Dale Schulenberg and his wife Doris of Lincoln, NE, Richard Schulenberg of Lake Havasu, AZ, sisters, Delores Gill of Falls City, Marcele Kaster and husband Kenneth of Falls City, Linda Gibson of Kansas City, brother-in-law, Roger Crofford of Falls City, grandchildren, Josh Coulter, Nicole Finner, Chrissy Garris, Carla Rhodd, Brandon Hunzeker, Travis Mullins and Ali Frederick and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Beverly Crofford, brothers-in-law, Frank Gill and Bob Gibson.
Her memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2024 at 10:30 AM at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church (20th and Towle) with Pastor Joanna Kathol officiating. Inurnment will be in Steele Cemetery.
The family will greet friends at the church 1 hour prior to services.
