Alan (Al) Wayne Bachman

Alan (Al) Wayne Bachman, 71, of Bentonville, AR, passed away Saturday, May 11, 2024, while on a trip back home to Rulo, NE. He was born September 17, 1952, in Falls City, NE, to Loyd and Louretta (Gentry) Bachman, of Rulo, NE.

Al graduated from Falls City High School, where he won multiple track honors & held the state track record. He attended the University of Nebraska Lincoln and earned a degree in teaching and was a student trainer for the football team. He graduated from the University of Arizona Tucson with a Masters of Science in Athletic Training.

Al married Carla Koopman on August 4, 1974. During their almost 50 years of marriage, they enjoyed traveling, spending time in Nebraska with family and friends, and morel hunting in Arkansas and Nebraska. They were the proud parents of two daughters, numerous hunting dogs and a couple of cats he tolerated for his wife and daughters. Al spent most of his life as a realtor in NW Arkansas, working with Cooper Communities and A-1 Realty.

Al was well known for being the life of the party and enjoyed being outdoors hunting, fishing, golfing, and participating in Benton County Quail. His daughters appreciate that he prioritized being present for all their important school and extra-curricular activities throughout their childhood. Al taught them to love the Huskers, appreciate the farmland in Nebraska, and roam the woods to hunt morel mushrooms. One of his greatest joys was the time he spent with his older brothers, running Twin Oak Bachman Farms, and their trips traveling, skiing, and hunting. Al was an uncle to many nieces and nephews and enjoyed spending time with them at family functions throughout the years. In his later years, he was a proud papa to his granddaughter, Tenley. 

Alan was preceded in death by his parents, Loyd and Louretta (Gentry) Bachman; father-in-law, Ray Koopman; newphew Timothy Bachman and great-nephew, Easton Vonderschmidt. 

He is survived by his wife Carla Bachman, of Bentonville; two daughters and sons-in-law, Felicia and Jef Chenault, of Bella Vista; Nicole and Benji Enssle, of Bella Vista; granddaughter, Tenley Enssle; bonus grandkids, Cecilia, Penelope, Eliza, and Mark Chenault; soon-to-be grandkids, the Chenault twins; the Bachman Brothers, Neal and Betty Bachman, of Bella Vista, AR; Dale and Dee Bachman, of San Antonio, TX; Merle and Trula Bachman, of Rulo, NE; and Lyle and Charlotte Bachman, of Tulsa, OK; mother-in-law, Beverly Koopman; sister-in-law Jean and Mark Hodge and brother-in-law, Jerry and Laura Koopman, all of Falls City, NE; and numerous nephews and nieces and great-nephews and great-nieces.
