Bob O. Bell, 93, of Auburn, NE, passed away November 16, 2022 at Auburn. He was born October 14, 1929 at Amistad, NM to Clinton and Thelma (Steele) Bell.
He married Wilma James on May 23, 1954 at the Christian Church parsonage, she passed away on February 20, 2018.
On January 11, 1951 Bob was drafted into the U. S. Army. He served in the Korean War and then served in the Army Reserves. He was honorably discharged on December 6, 1956 as a Corporal.
Bob lived many places growing up and following the war he moved to Colorado in 1952. In 1953 he moved to Auburn, NE where he worked for Auburn Electric Motors and then for Humphrey Motors. In 1954 the couple moved to Gila Bend, AZ where he worked at guided missile range and missile testing site. They moved to Salina, KS where he worked for Ryder Truck Company as a mechanic and later, he worked for Western Auto. He later worked part time for Sam’s Club. He moved to Hiawatha, KS in 2018 and later to Auburn. He enjoyed carving walking Sticks and canes.
Bob is survived by his brother, Ben of Great Falls, MT, sister, Lucy Scott of Oklahoma City, in-laws, Dean and Marian James of Stella, NE, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, three brothers and three sisters.
Graveside service will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at Prairie Union Cemetery with Pastor John States officiating. Military graveside honors by Shubert American Legion.
