Paul Meinzer, 94, of Falls City, NE, passed away December 7, 2021 at Falls City. He was born April 5, 1927 at Falls City to Paul and Pearl (Gentry) Meinzer.
He married Carolyn Little on January 17, 1954 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church (20th and Towle St.). She passed away January 31, 2019.
Paul served in the Army-Air Force, enlisting on March 30, 1946 at Ft. Leavenworth, KS. He earned a WWII Victory Medal. He was honorably discharged on September 29, 1947.
Paul was raised at Falls City and graduated from Falls City High School in 1945. He started farming on the family farm before enlisting in the service and upon his honorable discharge he returned home and continued to farm. He moved into Falls City in 2005 and he retired from farming in 2016. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, American Legion Post #102 and Falls City Elks Lodge #963 and Dairymen’s Association DHIA.
Paul is survived by his children, Marsha Hull and her husband Steve of Fremont, NE, Kenneth and his wife Susie of Reno, NV, Karen Killingsworth and her husband Kevin of Fremont, Tami Dunn and her husband Mike of Falls City, brother, Richard and his wife Ann of Falls City, sister-in-law, Shirley Meinzer of Falls City, ten grandchildren and twenty-four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and a brother, Byron “Barney” Meinzer.
His funeral will be held on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at 10:30 AM at First United Methodist Church with Reverend Michael Brown officiating. Interment will be in Steele Cemetery. Military Graveside Honors By Falls City Ceremonial Honor Guard.
