David Oliver, 71, of Dawson, NE, passed away November 12, 2020 at Omaha, NE. He was born October 28, 1949 to Dale and Loraine (Fritz) Oliver.
He married Vickie Sopoci in 1973 at Falls City.
David enlisted in the U. S. Army on July 29, 1971 at Falls City, NE. He served in Viet Nam and was honorably discharged on July 28, 1975.
David was raised at Shubert and attended Shubert High School. Following his schooling he helped his father in his mechanic shop. When married the couple established their home in Shubert where he worked at the elevator. They then moved to Stella, working at the elevator also. He took employment working for a trail derailment crew and then moved to Lark Charles, LA where he worked at the Conoco Phillips Refinery, retiring in 2016. They returned to the Dawson area and in his retirement he enjoyed watching the wildlife on the farm, fishing and wood working.
David is survived by his wife, Vickie of Dawson, children, Mandy Oliver and her fiancé Jimmy Norris of Pawnee City, NE, Corey and his wife Tracy of Salem, NE, brothers, Jerry and his wife Sharryll of Falls City, Richard and his wife Peggy of Shubert, Jim and his wife Mona of Lincoln, NE Harvey of Shubert, sisters, Shirley Minshall and her husband Arley of Salem, Mary Jamison and her husband Steve of Table Rock, NE, Judy Constantine and her husband Darryl of Auburn, NE, Kathy Last and her husband Merlin of Shubert, Peggy Oliver of Shubert, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and two grandchildren in infancy.
Mr. Oliver has been cremated and services will be Saturday, November 28th at 12:00 PM at Shubert Community Building.
