Barada Fish Fry serves over 600

The Harris Cemetery Association served more than 600 people at its annual fundraiser for cemetery maintenance.  This year’s event was held in memory of Josh Georges, who died in a tragic accident last October.  From 5 p.m. to sunset, Barada was packed with cars and pickups, and the food line stretched out the door and across the road, in honor of a young man who knew no strangers. Tom Georges and his crew served over 800 lbs. of fish and several donated side dishes and desserts were served to over 600 people. Chad Scholl furnished tents, Sue Bantz furnished port-a-potties, and trailers were provided by Sickel Farms, Brewer Farms, Bierman Farms, and Rick Nutzman. An auction was held during the fish fry with all items being donated. (Photo by Lori Gottula)
