Edward Dale DeLong, 68, of Falls City, was born on June 13, 1950 in Falls City, to Orval and Marjorie (Pool) DeLong.
He grew up in the Falls City area and had all of his schooling in Falls City. Edward enlisted in the U.S. Navy and honorably served his country from December 5, 1968 until being discharged on February 24, 1971. He served his country during the Vietnam War stationed aboard the USS Kitty Hawk. Ed was a truck driver to Ready Mix Concrete for twenty-five years delivering to the Falls City and Auburn areas.
Ed passed away on Saturday, June 16, 2018, at the Falls City Nursing and Rehabilitation Nursing Home in Falls City.
He was preceded in death by parents.
Ed is survived by his loving wife Anita “Neen” DeLong of Falls City, NE; children: Shawna (Brian) Bindle of Falls City, NE; Kyle (Jennifer) DeLong of Falls City; Desir’ee DeLong of Falls City; grandchildren: Bailey Bindle of Brownville; Brody Bindle of Falls City; Kaden and Jensen DeLong of Falls City; Corey Murphy, Tristan Vitale, Nicolas and Isaac Heaton all of Falls City; sisters: Glenna (Dr. Thomas) Laird of Marshal, MO; Norma Foshee of Blair, NE; and Nancy DeLong, a brother Ronald DeLong of Lincoln; and many other relatives and friends.
Graveside Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 22, 2018, at The Rulo Cemetery in Rulo, Nebraska with Reverend Fay Ann Blaylock officiating.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m.- 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 21, 2018 at The Hall Funeral Home in Falls City, Nebraska. Family will greet friends from 6-8 p.m.
