Child abuse case moves forward in district court

During her arraignment in Richardson County District Court on May 8, Jessica E. Moore, age 28 of Falls City, entered a plea of not guilty on two counts of child abuse.

On Mar. 26, the Falls City Police Department received a complaint from a woman accusing Moore of injecting her child with methamphetamine. According to the arrest affidavit, Moore had allegedly injected the child with methamphetamine on two separate occasions within a one-month time frame. Moore was arrested and charged with two counts of child abuse, a class 3A felony.

A pretrial conference is scheduled for June 26, 2018, at 9:00 a.m. If convicted, Moore may face up to five years in prison or a fine of $10,000, or both.
