Brenda A. (Jorn) Raney, 48, of Falls City, passed away Tuesday, July 14, at the Community Medical Center in Falls City. She was born on Feb. 21, 1967 at Auburn to Paul E. and Rose (James) Jorn.
She was raised in Verdon and graduated from Dawson-Verdon High School in 1985. She then attended Peru State College for two years. In her school days she participated in sports. She especially enjoyed playing softball in the DV summer league.
Brenda was united in marriage to John Raney on June 28, 2002 in Falls City, and raised three children, Jenny, Victor and Jesse.
She worked at Careage Estates Nursing Home for more than 20 years as a CNA. Brenda loved her work, she was very dedicated to the care of the residents. She was known for always talking to everyone she knew around town; always interested in how they were doing, and what was new.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, and her father.
Brenda is survived by her husband, John, of Falls City; children, Jenny Henson, of Olathe, KS, Victor Henson, and Jesse Raney, both of Falls City; mother, Rose Gish, of Onalaska, WA; siblings, Connie Arthurs, of Washington, Paul Jorn Jr. (Debbie), of Humboldt, and Chris Jorn,, of Table Rock; other relatives and friends.
A graveside memorial service was held Saturday, July 18, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Cemetery south of Verdon.
