Ronald Kunc, 71, of Falls City, passed away Saturday, Aug. 1, 2015 at Omaha. He was born Oct. 2, 1943 at Pawnee City to the late Harry and Alverna (Terrill) Kunc.
He married Pam Stevens at Bethel United Methodist Church east of Falls City on Dec. 21, 1982.
Ronald was raised on a farm near Burchard and graduated from Lewiston High School in 1962. He attended Southeast Community College at Fairbury, and then enlisted in the Nebraska National Guard at Lincoln. He worked for Lincoln Electrical Systems and at Flying “L” Trailer Factory. He transferred to Falls City and continued his employment with Flying “L” until working for Woodings-Verona, which later became Ames True Temper. Ron retired in 2005 due to his health.
He then did a lot of volunteer work, including driving people to various medical appointments and “meals on wheels,” and he was in charge of 40 blue bird houses in and around Falls City. Ron was a member of the Bethel United Methodist Church east of Falls City and worked as the church’s custodian and handy man.
He is survived by his wife, Pam, of Falls City; sisters, Janice Olberding, of Jansen, NE, Jo Anne (Donald) Rinnie, of Beatrice, Linda (Ronald) Spilker, of Pickrell, NE, and Terry (Kent) Steinkamp, of Beatrice; mother-in-law, Loretta Stevens, of Falls City; brother-in-law, Dean (Deb) Stevens, of Falls City; sister-in-law, Lisa (Tom) Dorman, of Colorado Springs, CO; many nieces and nephews.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents.
His funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 6, 2015 at Bethel United Methodist Church, east of Falls City (one mile north on the Preston Road), with Rev. Karla Shafer officiating. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Wednesday at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home, of Falls City. Interment will be in Steele Cemetery.
