Indian Cave Outdoor Adventure

Indian Cave State Park will host an Outdoor Adventure on April 18. Enjoy a fun day of activities along the Missouri River.

Activities include a mushroom hunt, youth horseback rides, hayrack tours and demonstrations of black powder shooting, wood carving, Dutch oven cooking and living history. There also will be exhibits of bats and pelts, an Ak-Sar-Ben Aquarium fish display, archery shooting, a Raptor Recovery program and a birding workshop. 

The Morel Mile and 5K races begin at 8 a.m., with registration at 7 a.m. The fee is $20 for those who register by April 11 and $25 after. A T-shirt and pancake and sausage breakfast is included in the registration. 

Catfish, fries and cole slaw will be served at a noon fish fry. The cost is $9 for adults (age 13 and above) and $6 for children.

An evening glow in the dark egg hunt will be at 8:30pm. Contact the park for more information or to register for the races at 402-883-2575 or ngpc.indian.cave@nebraska.gov. A park entry permit is required.
