Harmon’s Tire seeks change to zoning law

    A plan for Harmon’s OK Tire to utilize two locations in the 1800 block of Stone Street to warehouse tires has met at least a temporary roadblock, as it was brought to the attention of the City Council that current zoning ordinance forbids warehousing in the business district of Falls City.
    Melvin Harmon, an owner and operator of the family tire business, appeared before the City Council at its regular meeting Monday, Aug. 4, at City Hall to request changes in the zoning ordinance which would allow the business to store tires at 1823 Stone St. (formerly Blue Collar Auto Sales & Repair), property Harmon’s purchased for $15,000 in April for that very purpose and without prior knowledge of the warehousing restriction.

2.) To purchase the E-edition, on the left side of the fcjournal.net home page, click the blue ‘Create an account’ link. A new page will open and please fill out the necessary information in the ‘User Registration’ form below the heading, ‘New User Account With Membership Subscription.’ After you have completed the form, click ‘Register’ and you will be redirected to the Journal’s PayPal account where you can pay for your subscription. After payment is made you will be taken back to the home page where you can use your log-in name and password to begin using your subscription. Please allow a few minutes for your payment to process before logging in to the site.
