Falls City Sacred Heart seniors Yianni Haralabidis and Ashli Jordan were crowned 2013 Homecoming King and Queen following the Irish’s football victory over Diller-Odell Friday night at Jug Brown Stadium.
Ashli, the daughter of Kathy Jordan and Mack Jordan, has participated in volleyball, basketball and track throughout high school. She received Academic All-State in both volleyball and basketball her junior year and in her sophomore year she received Academic All-State in track. Ashli has participated in both One-act and dance team for three years and choir and art for four years. She won the 2012 Congressional Art Competition, and her artwork appeared in the capitol building in Washington D.C. for a year. She has been a member of the National Honor Society for three years and is currently the president. She has been a member of Helping Hands for four years and is currently vice-president of the volunteer group and is also one of the five co-presidents of the Pep Club. She was a member of Student Council for three years and was president of her freshman and junior class. Ashli is a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. She is employed at Jonesbrook Estates and during the summer she was also a lifeguard at the Falls City Aquatic Center. She plans on attending UNL to pursue a nursing degree.
Yianni, the son of Costas and Lee Ann Haralabidis, has participated in football, track, basketball, one-act and band throughout high school. He was selected as an All-State kicker during his junior football season. He has been a class officer for the past two years and has been active in Helping Hands and pep club. He is currently one of five co-presidents of the pep club. He has been on the honor roll throughout high school. He is a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church. Yianni’s future plans are to study architecture.
Other Queen candidates were Rachel Parrish, daughter of Doug and Judy Parrish, and Emma Schock, daughter of Jason and Alicia Schock.
Other King candidates were Jarod Fiegener, son of Francis and Julie Fiegener, and Colin Niemeyer, son of Chris and Johnette Niemeyer.
Following the crowning, the Student Council hosted the FCSH 2013 Homecoming Dance at Tiehen Gym.
