MARY L. (BAUMAN) LINDSTROM

Mary Lynn (Bauman) Bachle Lindstrom, 63, of Omaha, passed away at home Monday after a courageous year-long battle to overcome cancer. She was born on Feb. 9, 1953 to Marvin and Berdine Bauman.

Upon graduating from Peru State College with an education degree, Mary taught school for one year in Falls City and the next seven years at Tekamah-Herman Public Schools. That was followed by a successful 31-year career at Mutual of Omaha in the Information Tech Dept. She loved challenges, was committed to finding solutions to those challenges and inspired those around her to do the same. She loved sports; that included Nebraska football games. She loved to travel, having been to the UK, France, Belize, Mexico and the Hawaiian Islands many times with her husband and friends. Mary had the life philosophy to work hard but when it was time to have fun go all out and all out she did. She will be truly missed by her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Mary is survived by her husband, Eldon Lindstrom, of Omaha; brothers, Merlin (Shirley) and Allan (Marcella) Bauman, all of Falls City; and nieces and nephews, Amy (Bill) Nussbaum, Matt (Julie) Bauman, Danelle (Matt) Cromer, Jennifer (James) Keller, Joe (Karrie) Bauman, and nine great-nieces and nephews, all of Falls City.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 21, 2016 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Falls City. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Friday, May 15, at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 7909 Mormon Bridge Rd., Omaha. A prayer service will begin at 6:30. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
