Z. ‘TINY’ BUCHHOLZ

Zita “Tiny” Buchholz, 99, of Falls City, passed away Friday, April 29, 2016 at Falls City. She was born on Feb. 27, 1917 near Barada to the late John and Gertrude (Elam) Oslin.

On June 1, 1934, she married Frank Buchholz at Falls City. Mr. Buchholz passed away on Sept. 3, 1971.

Tiny was raised in the Barada area and attended Falls City High School. When married, the couple established their home on a farm near Barada and she became a homemaker and farm wife. She and her husband owned Frank’s Place in Barada for a few years then moved to her husband’s family farm in 1954. She continued to live on the farm until moving into Falls City in 1992.

Tiny was employed as a nurse’s aide at Falls City Hospital.

She was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church and Does Drove #56, both of Falls City.

Tiny is survived by a daughter, Shirley (Byron) Meinzer, of Falls City; five grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Kenneth; husband; brothers, Carl, Buck and Johnny Oslin; sisters, Juanita Runyan, Lula Chism, Myrtle Pierce and Jean Dickes.

Her funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, with Rev. Andrew Chavanak officiating. Interment will be in Harris Cemetery at Barada. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Tuesday at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home, Falls City.
